Tailored, not Tight

The 2010’s saw wearing your clothes too tightly as what was fashionable. Its almost the antithesis of the baggy, loose clothing trend of the 90’s. While we’ve been slowly progressing away from the tight fad in the latter years of the decade, there’s enough evidence to suggest that in 2020 there are still many men who believe that tight clothing is correct clothing.

Necktie Knots

There are dozens of ways to tie a necktie. In fact, authors Thomas Fink and Yong Mao published a book titled The 85 Ways to Tie a Tie in 1999. No doubt even more have been invented since then. Shoe Basics

It may surprise you to know that there are just as many types of shoes and boots out there for men as there are for women. Take a breath with me as I name just a few. Aaaand oxfords, derbies, loafers, monk straps, bluchers, wingtips, spectators, full brogues, semi brogues, quarter brogues, longwing, patent leather, whole cut, opera pumps, jodhpurs, chelsea, chukka, boat, kilties, and the list could go on still. Everything I just named above is either a category of footwear or a specific detailing that can help differentiate a piece of footwear.

Simply put, an odd jacket is any jacket that is paired with unmatched trousers. This is typically done by using different colors, however, it can also be done with a combination of colors, patterns, or fabrics. Most people would be familiar with odd jackets as blazers or sport coats. These terms are more specific types of odd jackets which I will cover in a later post.
